'R' Mountain Hike

Kaley & I decided to hike R mountain this week.
It was a beautiful day and really fun.

There are many trails around the base of the mountain that you can hike up. For some reason, Kaley and I didn't find any of those trails, and we simply went STRAIGHT up the mountain.
We slipped, and we slided, nearly ending our lives a dozen times, but it was an adventure!
The view from the top is amazing!

Kaley slipped at the top and nearly fell off the cliff.. good thing I was there to catch it on camera

We hiked up Subway sandwiches. This sounded like a good idea when we were buying them, but since we had them toasted, by the time we got to the top they were... a little soggy. And I didn't feel so great afterward.

Soakin in the sun

We were so happy to finally make it to the top!

Coming down the mountain. Yes, we are going straight down. It was hard-core.

We stopped on the way home to say hello to these giant Elk.
Look at their antlers! I couldn't believe how big they were up close... I don't understand why they aren't top heavy and just slam down head first???..
Those antlers would give me a headache.

For the record, it was not a bug I heard... I promise I heard a snake! So it was a legitimate scare!

Embarrassing Moment Fairies.. haha this title makes me laugh

You know when you are at a party, or some type of "get to know you"event and someone will ask you what your most embarrassing moment is? like somehow knowing that piece of information will help them get to know you so well...

Whenever I was asked my most embarrassing moment I could never think of one. I know that I have had plenty of them, but there was never a good enough one that was memory worthy I guess.

... Come to think of it- there is one story, but it is wayyy to embarrassing to ever tell, so no one will ever know that one. Unless, one day I am on my death bed dying and taking my last breath.. then I will share it... I will also share it if you ask me the next time I see you. :)

Well, these past few weeks, it seems the "embarrassing moment fairies" have been gracing me with their presence every where I go...
And the stories begin...

Embarrassing Moment #1:

A couple weeks ago I went to the registration office here on campus to turn in my application to graduate next semester. I had to fill out some paperwork and I had some questions. The lady helping me was super nice, and really friendly.
I spent at least 15 minutes with her filling things out, and talking.
I thought we had a friendship.

I come back to the same registration office about 2 weeks later to turn in Brett's application for him. I walk up to the little "jail- visiting -cubby like" window when lo and behold who is helping me??
None other then my BFF who I met last time!! I was so happy, because I knew how nice she was, so I had a big smile on my face and when I walked up I said, "HEY! I think you helped me last time!"
I immediately regretted saying it.

She stared at me and I'm pretty sure something like this was
going across her mind,
"Ok crazy girl, I see a million people a day, why the crap would I
remember you?"

She's thinking that, and I'm smiling at her wondering if we should get BFF necklaces.
Needless to say, I quickly realized she did not know who the heck I was so I got down to business and left, a tiny bit embarrassed that I got so excited.

Embarrassing Moment #2:

It has been sooo wonderfully warm here these past few weeks, I'm really loving it. It's nicer then home (cali) because it's not as hot- it's just right!

Since it is such nice weather, students usually lay, sit, or nap on the grassy areas between classes. This particular day I had some extra time and a text book I desperately needed to start reading for a class. It was a really nice day, so there were lots of students out.

A lot of students were outside just to be outside, talking with people and going to class, and a lot of students were sitting on the grass. There were about 5 sitting near me on the lawn.

So, I start reading my textbook- and look up to take a little break. When I look up I notice my friend from nutrition class standing about 20 feet away talking to someone.
Me and this girl talk everyday because she sits behind me, so I know she knows who I am.

We made eye contact so I quickly lift my arm to wave and say hello...
Just as my hand is beginning to wave, she looks away.

I felt stupid. There were many people around me who I know saw me not get a wave/hello back.
So, I kinda pretended not to notice that I got rejected and read my book for a few more minutes then ran inside to my class.
Ya, you can bet I'm never helping that girl in nutrition again!!
( I'm kinda joking...kinda not) :)

So, those are my embarrassing moments. Now I need someone to invite me to a party so I can tell about them. :)
