A little chalkboard

We had this cheap old coffee table we weren't using anymore, and it was just sitting in Parker's room for the time being. I didn't want to throw it out, and I knew it would be good for something! So I got some chalkboard paint, painted the top of the table, and now p diddy has a chalkboard in his room that I hope he will love as he gets older!

Easter & other doings

This year we took little P to our ward Easter party so that he could do the Easter egg hunt and score lots of candy for mom & dad.
He got 2 eggs.
Not the loot we were looking for. :)
But it was still super fun, Parker can crawl now- so we laid him on the grass and let him scoot to a couple eggs, Brett had to snatch a couple up though before the bigger kids came and stole them from Parker! (Those toddlers get ruthless about their eggs!)

I recently got P this baseball cap- we wore it around the store for like 5 minutes, before I figured that was good enough testing to be sure he would leave it on. So far, he will wear it for at least 10 minutes before realizing there is something funny on his head and tear it off. We're workin on it.

In his Easter best.

We also got to celebrate 2 cousins turning 1 this past week! Cousin Mack and cousin Miles!

Easter weekend wore this guy out!

On an entirely separate note, we discovered this little guy likes lemons!
he coughed a few times, but for the most part he was in lemon heaven!

I love this picture!

The End!
Lots of random-ness and jibber jabber!

Happy Anniversary!

Happy 3 years to the love of my life, my best friend.
technically since we've known each other so long- this year will be 9 years since we first met, crazy huh?! But I couldn't marry him when I first met him, I was only 14, remember??

To commemorate 3 years of marriage here are the top 3 reasons I love my Brett

  • He is the most wonderful father ever. When he gets home from work I get a quick kiss/hello then he's off to talk, play and kiss parker for the next 5 minutes, while I have to sit back and wait my turn. I love that he loves his little boy so much. Brett also is always willing to help out with little P. Just the other day Brett told me he thought I did to much work with Parker, and that he wanted to help more! (which he already helps a lot, so I thought this was really over the top sweet!)
  • Brett always wants me to be happy. If he comes home and I'm grumpy or having a bad day (which is like never :) he puts all his problems, grumps, or burdens aside and focuses on me and making me happy.
  • He's good at whatever he does. Excuse me while I brag for a minute, but seriously he is. Whether it's public speaking, basketball, golf, scrap-booking, cooking or even picking me out an outfit, Brett's good at it. I love it because I can always rely on him to help me when it's not working for me, and he always teaches me new things.

Happy 3 years! Here's to many many many more years!

Like it or hate it?

Most people grow up dreading having to go to the dentist. Not me. Going to the dentist was awesome. Why, you ask? Well, for starters, I pretty much always knew I was going to have a cavity- so that never came as a horrible surprise that I had to come back for nova-cane, a filling, and the numbness. I didn't mind all that. Second, the dentist had an awesome basket full of toys so at the end I got to pick out a toy, sometimes 2- it was great. Next, my mom always took me to wendy's after the dentist so I could get a frosty for my numb mouth. And the final reason why I probably liked my dentist so much was that he was my best friends dad!! It was awesome, we would always talk about her, about the sports teams we were on- it was cool.

After getting married, there was a space of about 2 1/2 years where I didn't see a dentist. For me, and my cavity prone teeth, I knew that was bad. After college, dental insurance finally came with Brett's job. I was so excited to go. But, it wasn't the same. I mean, I really like my dentist now- she's a really nice, funny lady- but we don't get to talk about Jamie, I don't know the same smells and floor plan, and the worst part? No toy basket.

I recently went and found out I had 8 cavities. ya, I know. I promise I brush and floss! I floss every night people! My teeth are weak sauce!
So, I was in this last week to get all the cavities done that were on my right side. She started, she did most things right, shook my cheek while she gave me the first few shots of nova-cane, talked to me lots, made me comfy, the hygienist even rubbed my forehead while the dentist gave me shots of nova-cane, it felt pretty good. Until..... she started drilling.
I felt everything! So I told her, she gave me a few more shots of nova-cane, all in the back of the mouth which is the worst part to get it, she says. Then I sat there for 10 min waiting for the nova-cane to kick in. So, she came back and drilled again. But I still felt it!
I think I had her stumped.
So, after like 10 shots of nova-cane- I was good to go.

In between cavities she went over to start on a new patient. I tried to lift my head, but the right side of my neck muscles were not working! I couldn't lift it! I thought that was odd, then the hygienist asked me a question- when I tried to respond I couldn't talk! I sounded handicapped!

She just laughed and walked away, in the mean time I knew it must have been from all the nova-cane but then my mind started thinking, "What if I had a stroke?" "I have slurred speech!" And I started wondering if I should get up and call Brett and tell him to come get me quick or call 911!!!
Luckily, I didn't. Looking back, that would have been extremely embarrassing if I called 911 and they got there and the dentist was all, "It's just from the nova-cane, duh!" And I would then have to faint or something to make the paramedics trip worth it, right? Glad I avoided that whole situation.

Anyways, long story I know and really no point. I have to go back again in a week for 4 more cavities on my other side- I wonder if I will have stroke-like symptoms again!?!
