the latest & greatest

This little munckin is growing up. fast. He used to just snuggle, and cuddle and lay on me and sleep. Now he, wiggles and squirms and shakes to get moving and out of my arms.
However he also;
claps
laughs
growls
rolls (everywhere)
snuggles (if I'm really lucky)
eats solids and loves 'em
lights up when I walk in the room
gives us kisses (and slobbers all over you)
As sad as I am that he's growing up, it's so fun watching him learn and grow into a rambunctious little guy!

occasionally he'll show you his softer, snuggly side. As Brett was so lucky to see.

Little Man's first time sitting in the seat part of the shopping cart. He loved it!! And my back loved it. {Not wearing the bjorn was nice}

A few additions to the nursery

This was a fun little banner I made to go over this frame.

Little man loving his seat, right up to the table with mom and dad.
Perfect.

Align CenterWe need to watch this one! He was quite rude to the cat. Hopefully he'll outgrow this tendency.

Brinin' the overalls back! I couldn't resist.

Sisters Weekend

A couple weeks ago all my sisters came into town for a girls weekend.
It was so much fun to all be together!
Carrie and Brooke left all their kids at home (except for baby Haley of course)- so they realllly enjoyed this trip. Sleeping in, making treats, it was fun!

Of course it is not a complete trip until Carrie makes a few of her divine chocolate creations.
This night she turned this...
into this...
it was heavenly!
Baked Hot Chocolate, she calls it...
We hung out in SF one day. We rode the cable car to fisherman's wharf- & ate some delicious lunch....

Then we headed to Ghirardelli square for some more chocolate!

My hot chocolate was perrrrfect. It was steamed milk, and then you dropped a few of the chocolate squares in, stirred it up- and got hot chocolate. I loved it.
Cable car ride home!

We also went to union square- shopped at Saks fifth avenue. ok, didn't shop, really went in and walked around and laughed at the $3,000 price tag that hung on about every article of clothing in there.
Especially when the the article of clothing looked like it was designed & made by a blind trash can. crazy stuff in there. But it was fun, we liked listening to a lady tell us about 50 different perfumes and spraying them all over ourselves.

At the end of the day, Mr. Parker had been worn out
Brett came over a couple times because he missed us :)
this is Parker looking out the window, waiting for dad...

Of course it wouldn't be a trip home without walking downtown Benicia, and enjoying the view
We also started a new tradition of "daddy daughter" date on our girls trip. This time we went out to breakfast with our dad. We told him he could plan the next date. We are expecting the next one to be mountain biking, or shooting, or a car lesson or something else manly :)

a little this and that

I just started testing out fuzzibunz cloth diapers. my sister's friend let me borrow one of her extras so I can test it out and see what I think. So far, it's not to difficult, and I like the idea of a few less diapers filling up a landfill. I'm not completely sold on them yet- they are a little more messy and require more "hands on", and Brett's not to keen on the idea, but so far they've been kinda fun.

Besides cloth diapering we are working on trying to get this little man to nap better. We had a girls week with my sisters {post of that coming soon}, and we did lots of activities where poor little man went without a nap and he was just thrown of his schedule plus he has a little cold, so the lack of air going through his nose makes him wake up every 40 min. Poor guy.
He's still pretty happy though!

I'm kind of embarrassed to say, but Parker's room isn't done yet. We've lived here for 3 months, and his room is the last we've worked on. Slowly but surely we are putting up shelves, pictures and this is the most recent addition. It's not fancy shmancy but I think it fits the rest of his room.

I just bought him a couple of pairs of leg warmers- they are awesome! They fit him so snug and and he looks so darn cute in them. They will be great for crawling and just keeping his little leggies warm when he's in just a onesie.

A shower

My sisters and I gave Kate a baby shower this weekend. It was lots of fun and she got some adorable things for her baby girl!
I didn't get to many pics and I didn't get one of the shower favors, they were so cute. Stove top Potpourri bags, a little bag filled with cinnamon sticks, cloves, and other spices and a lemon. You slice the lemon and pour contents into a simmering pot and your whole house begins to smell yummy!
Here are some shots pretty much of the food (most important part). :)

lights & a resloution

Little man wanted to help out mom and dad, and put some Christmas lights away.
He did a good job, other then when he tried to eat them a few times.

A few of my resolutions this year include things that will help us save $.

So, in order for me to really do one of my goals, I am going to post it on my blog so I know I'm really accountable. Because I can't lie to my blog.

One of my main goals is that I won't buy any new clothes for myself until my birthday, which is middle of March. To some of you, you're thinking, "2 1/2 months?? 2 1/2 months is hard for you? you're pathetic!" and some of you are thinking, "2 1/2 months!! I could never go 2 1/2 months!!"
Obviously I tend to agree more with the second group of people.
That is why this is my goal. :)
I'm not going to lie, whilst returning things at the mall, it has been hard to not "browse" clothing. Because i know "browsing" leads to buying in my case.
But it has been refreshing and I'm proud of myself and I know I can make it to my goal!
by the way, I'm not planning on going buck-wild shopping on my birthday.
Maybe the Mr. will take me to get a shirt or something, but I'm going to set another shopping goal in March for another few months and see how long I can keep this up.
p.s. I had a friend in college who went a whole year without buying new clothes for herself.
She's my idol.
Not sure I'll ever get there.
Baby steps. Right?!

Did anyone else make a shopping resolution? or am I the only one?

2011- a review

2011 was a busy year.
Fun, but crazy busy. Of course the highlight was meeting our Parker boy.
He is our whole world these days.
So that I can remember and one day our children can read about, here is a quick re-cap of 2011 for Bremily.

January: Accept job with Goldman Sachs after just graduating college. Move from Idaho to Utah- while living in California in between. Move into an apartment in Midvale, Utah.
February: Work, work and more work. He's working 12 hour days, I'm growing a baby- and I go to the Oregon coast for a week with my mom and sisters for a girls trip.March: Still growing baby, and husband still working like a dog. To ease his workload I go on yet another girls trip with the Blodgett girls to St. George. With 4 pregnant ladies! I have my birthday, I want to celebrate by eating lots and lots of ice cream!April: mom comes out for woman's weekend at BYU.
(And I continue to grow. obviously.)May: Hubb's birthday. He got a Jimmer poster. That hangs in our closet as I type. I also go home to CA for a quick trip to say hello before baby comes! We catch a Giants game. Travis was nervous the whole time that the ball was going to hit us!June: I grow uncomfortably large.
July 3- Parker arrives!! August: Fly home for Brett to interview with Eli Lilly & to bless ParkerSeptember- October: Accept job with Eli Lilly. Pack up and move out to Ca! Enjoy our little pea pod at Halloween.
November: Thanksgiving in St. George with my side
December: Enjoy baby's first Christmas! Going to Brett's work party with a baby all dressed up, and my 2 happy boys Christmas morning.
What a fun year
Can't wait to see what 2012 brings!
Happy New Year!
