As you probably notice I don't post much about "crafty projects" to often-
I don't consider myself a super crafty, 'make something cool out of any ol thing' type of girl.
I wish I was- and I love reading others people's blogs about their crafts and projects, it gives me hope! :)
My family however- is very crafty. All 3 of my sisters can make anything look like something great. They are all way better then me at scrap booking, sewing, drawing and anything else up that ally.
These 3 pictures below are not my projects- these are one of my sisters projects. This is the type of sewing she does-and my mom is such a wonderful seamstress, she made my wedding dress!

Now that you saw/know of their talents, let me share with you my recent projects {I realize my projects are going to look like a child could do it now that I showed you my sisters abilities, but bare with me!}
a few years ago my mom bought me a sewing machine, it's actually a 'mini' sewing machine, it's really cute and only weighs 5 lbs. Up until this weekend I had been scared to touch it, I was scared it would break as soon as I tried to wind the bobbin thingy whatsy- and then the thread would get all twisted and knotted and the machine would stop working.
That happened many times to me growing up when I got brave and tried to sew.
But, back then I had to just holler for my mom to come and fix whatever part I was sure I just broke. Then she would stop my melt-down, show me how to fix it, and I would be on my way, sewing again until the same thing happened 10 min later.
So- without my mom here, I was nervous to start.
But this Saturday was a slow one. March Madness games were on and I got a burst of craftiness that I had to take advantage of.
I got out my mini sewing machine, followed the directions s l o w l y- and viola, I had wound the bobbin and threaded my machine! I was ready to stop there I was so proud!
But- I had a project.
I had some of our old wedding fabric that I love and I had been wanting to cover our boring pillows on our couch.
So (after calling my mom to walk me through it and checking out a book from the library on pillow making) I did it!
I used two different fabrics for 4 pillows.
It was a lot of fun and the whole time I was doing this it was so cute to watch Brett.
He just stared at me in awe and he loved how crafty I was being.
After each project he praised me and told me how wonderful it looked.
Even though if you look close there are some flaws- but I wasn't going to let that get me down!
Our new pillows!
