P-diddy (not the rapper)

updates of our little P-diddy (as we so lovingly- nothing to do with rapper- like to call him)

This little guy is developing quite a personality.
He's learned that screaming/crying spurts with get mom & dad's attention.
He no longer can handle to lay still for 10 seconds while we change a diaper-
he mimics Brett coughing. It sounds weird, but seriously every time Brett coughs, or pretends to cough, Parker looks at him and does it right back. Sometimes he even does it with strangers in the store. It's weird, but a funny quirk.
He laughs a lot, and smiles all the time.
He recently learned how to pick up cheerios all by himself. His favorite is when I put 2 cheerios on the table in front of him, he grabs one in each hand then looks at us with a huge satisfied smile before stuffing them both in his mouth.
No crawling yet, and no teeth! We're waiting for either one to happen any day now!

this is the smile he'll give you 99% of the time
he loves to see himself in my phone- he laughs and laughs

Brett's friend got Parker all this SF giants gear- it's so cute. This is his first baseball cap!

If Parker is ever grumpy Brett pulls out his little remote control helicopter and flies it around for Parker. He immediately stops crying and gets a huge smile on while he watches. (side note, I love this anti-crying method, but I am not allowed to fly the helicopter, since I may have crashed it a few times, so I really love when Brett's home to use it!)

Lastly, some pics of the cousins. Parker looves Mack- but Mack's not as keen on Parker yet. Parker always grabs, kisses and tries to eat Mack- and Mack's not so sure about it. But here are a couple shots of them playing happily. Although I think in the first pic Mack is saying,
"Dude, who said you could play with my toys??"
And yes, as you can see in every picture my baby is either in a diaper or in his jammies 85% of the time.

My birthday!

My birthday festivities began Friday the 16th. Brett was super duper sneaky, and planned a surprise party at his mom and dad's house in Walnut Creek. My parents were there along with the Harlows. I was so so surprised, i had no idea- but it was so fun to walk in the door and be surprised with them all singing and a yummy dinner and delicious dessert. And fun gifts!
Thanks family!

Then Saturday the 17th, Denae and I ran a 10k (post below) and that was just a fun adventure and we ate a delicious breakfast afterwards, that counts as a party in my book.

Making it to March 19 meant more then turning 23 this year. It also meant the end of my no-shopping challenge! I was soooo excited for this day to come :) And my husband spoiled me-he took me shopping! It's one thing for him just to let me go shopping by myself, with no baby, but another thing entirely for him to come along. I know it was a big sacrifice for him, and he even made it the whole shopping trip without saying "My eyes hurt."
(that's usually what he says the very second we walk into a clothing store)

It was so nice to spend the day with Brett, we had both grandma's watch Parker at some point in the day so we could shop- and then go out to dinner that night. Thanks grandmas! :)

My no shopping challenge was really good. It helped me like the clothes I had, and helped me find new ways to wear my clothes. And I noticed that I am a lot more cautious when I shop now, I think long and hard about each purchase and try to get more out of the clothes I have.

My party weekend continued with dinner at Ruth's Christ steakhouse. Y-U-M
I could eat a steak from there every day. For every meal. Ok, to far- but really there steaks are to die for, so tender and perfectly cooked. It was a fantastic meal.

I absolutely love creme brulee- and Ruth's Chris creme brulee is amazing!!

Parker discovered his new favorite treat: trader joes chocolate cheerios. He loves them. we enjoyed downtown danville this weekend too, just strolling the streets. Brett's idea! He even gave up March Madness games to stroll the streets!

I also got some new cloth diapers for Parker- we're liking them so far!

running a muddy 10k

Denae & I decided to sign up for a 10k a couple months ago. Something to keep us motivated, and something to look forward to while at the same time kinda dreading. You know what i mean?
Anyways, so it had been such nice weather up until the week before- then the week of st. patty's day it rainnnnnned all week long. So when st .Patty's day came (the day of our race) the trails were muddy, slippery and wet.
There were also a lot more hills in this race then we were originally anticipating, so that also threw us for a loop a little bit.
Despite the wet, the mud and the hills it was a lot of fun, and we even got awesome medals~! not because we finished first or anything, although- I'm sure we were close :)

Evidence of the mud!
This hill was super slippery, that lady in the blue on the far left almost rolled down!

Like I said, it was a lot of fun- and made for some good memories.
