Happy big 2-5 to my best friend!!

Happy (2 days late) Birthday to my amazing husband!!
Brett is the most caring, kind, thoughtful guy I know- I'm so lucky to be a part of his life.

I got home from my CA trip (see post below) Friday the 13th night - his birthday. So I was extra anxious to see him and be sure he had a great birthday. Although, he managed to have a pretty good birthday without me already- he got some golf clubs re-gripped, went to the driving range and got ice cream. But after all that we was still soo happy to see me- I love being missed. :)

I tried to be sneaky earlier that week and get his work address so I could send him something at work for his birthday. But he totally caught on and began questioning me about what I was planning. Brett likes to be surprised- but he also can't handle the suspense of it, so it was really fun for me all week as he kept asking me worrying about what it might be.
Some of the ideas/nightmares he had were me sending an acapella group to sing to him in front of everyone at work, or me hiring a clown or something to come to work and make balloons for him and everyone. I kinda wish I would have sent the clown... it would have been funny.
Instead I sent this...

And edible arrangement bouquet! It also had a happy birthday balloon. I was so happy I sent it though because Brett hadn't told anyone at work that it was his birthday- and he wasn't planning on it! But when this was delivered they all found out!!

Happy Birthday Wonderful husband! I love you so much!

Here he is sporting all his gifts. I got him the Jimmer poster kinda as a joke- but he immediately hung it up that night in his "man space" aka- the garage area... He loves it and every time he passes it he pounds Jimmer's fist- maybe he didn't want me to tell everyone that... :)
He also got a new dress shirt, new golf shirt, a massage, a gift card to a golf store, a miracle ball set, new dress socks (how exciting, I know), and that picture of Christ- his favorite painting. That little outfit in the lower right hand of the picture isn't for him.. it's baby's first golfing outfit- I gave it to Brett because baby can wear it the first time he goes to a golfing range to watch dad :)- it's adorable and little sweater vest and plaid shorts.. I can't wait to put it on him!

A trip home!!

Last week I was able to go home and visit for a week! It was wonderful, and just what I needed. I desperately needed the California sunshine, spending time with both families- and my last big trip before baby is here!
Now that I am home and going over my pictures I of course wish I would have taken more- I didn't get that many I'm now realizing... but enjoy!

The first night we got there we went to our niece, Lexi's, dance recital. It was a lot of fun and she did a great job!

Of course after that we wanted a trip to Fenton's to celebrate.
I think Moriah is pretty excited for hers... :)

Denny, Jill & Landon about to dig in...

I had to document how many eggs my parents are getting from their chickens daily, 6 eggs a day!! That's crazy- I kinda wish I had 1 chicken here, just to give me an egg a day- It'd be fun!

We had to squeeze in a Giant's game. Mom & Dad enjoying the game- Travis and I were enjoying our garlic fries... :)

It wouldn't be a complete post about my trip home without a picture of the fur-balls. They just love each other and it's the cutest thing ever!

Mom and I made a trip to the deYoung museum in SF for a special exhibit- we just had to eat lunch there, that's half the fun of museums, their cafes and food are always extremely delicious (and expensive!)
Zoogie (again)

We did lot's of other fun things at home including:
  • Going to Mack's baby blessing- he's so sweet and precious and I'm so mad I didn't get a picture of him!!
  • Having Denae take fun maternity pics of Kim & I
  • Going to movies
  • Eating at the yummiest chinese restaurant ever
  • Visiting with old friends and extended family
  • oh, and I know no one will be surprised but we managed to squeeze in a little shopping!!

Me at 33 Weeks!
I've always felt like my baby belly was big, but now comparing it to earlier baby bump pictures- I feel HUGE! :) I can't believe how soon this little guy will be here, we can't wait to meet him!

It's time for an update!!

I haven't updated in a while, and we just had some family come into town- so I thought that would be a good time to fill you in!

31 weeks- 9 {if that} more to go!! wowzers- this is getting really real to us now!!
{I'm going to be posting less pictures of me and my face, haha- my round little bowling ball of a head is not fun for me to look at, and I'll only be getting bigger}
I really can't complain about my pregnancy- other than now having a bowling ball shaped head, I haven't been sick- and other then some back pain it's been relatively ok.
The only thing that is getting to me is waking up at 3 am nearly every night with RLS. {Restless Leg syndrome} I used to get this sometimes even when I wasn't pregnant, but now it's gotten worse. And the worst part is that I usually get it on the nights that I have worked out the longest that day!! I try and walk daily for at least an hour, and on days I go longer my RLS seems to be worse! I'm coping though, and usually if I get out of bed and stretch my legs a little, it gets better.
Waking up in the middle of the night has been worse lately because of my new calling.
Primary Chorister. Ya, I thought it was a joke at first too. I've never taught/led music in my life, and then I had to replace a terrific chorister in our ward! I was terrified, so after waking up from my RLS- I had a hard time going back to sleep because I would have visions of me totally botching primary singing time by messing up/the kids hating me/or me singing wrong.
Today was my first day though, and it went fairly well- no one yelled at me, I still don't lead the music, I just try and get away with standing and singing without moving my arm.
This was only day 1 though, we'll see how the remainder of this goes!

Part of my update involves giving a shout out to my terrific husband. He always some how knows the days that a bouquet of flowers is just what I need.
And it's good practice for me- I'm trying to see how long I can keep flowers alive, these one's died pretty fast, so fast I won't even tell you because I'm embarrassed. :)

We are also "Cat-sitting" right now for my sister Kate and her hubby Clark while they are away on a vacation. "Molly" is quite a rambunctious little feline, we put her in the baby's room at night- and she has adapted pretty fast. We usually find her asleep on top of the changing table, and one time she was even in the crib.

One of her favorite spots is on top of the dvd player- it's a small, cramped little space but she likes it. weird!

About a week ago Brett's parents and brother Landon came out for a visit. It was so much fun- and added so much to my sometimes long days!! :) We had a lot of fun, and Brett keeps dreaming every night of the golfing trip he took with dad and brothers. We enjoyed a fun family Easter holiday and loved being with family. Unfortunately the photographer in the family (Ddawg) couldn't come so of course no one else pulls out the camera while we are together, so no pictures were taken. But we had a blast- and we're so thankful for family!

Then, about 2 days later my mom flew in for women's conference at BYU. We went to it Friday and really enjoyed it and the messages shared.
Saturday we woke up to 4 inches of snow!!! { I almost had a heart attack} And I wanted to pack up and move back to Cali immediately. Luckily it melted fast so we decided to quit pouting and move on with our day.
We went to the tulip festival at Thanksgiving Point and we were not disappointed. It was AMAZING!! 54 acres of tulips and daffodils. It was beautiful, and so fun to walk around. They even have a "secret garden" that looks just like the movie.

After Thanksgiving point we went and saw the PG-13 version of "The King's Speech" - it was playing in the dollar theater. We LOVED it. It was one of the most uplifting/happy movies I've ever seen. I highly recommend it.

Then we did a little car seat shopping. It was a little over whelming for Brett and I since they have so many gadgets/gizmos and crazy things for car seats these days.
This one was on top of the display shelf, It was so luxury- and practically had everything to it- mp3/ipod holder, cell phone charger, seat warmers.... ok maybe not all those but it looked so comfy Brett wanted to test it out- I didn't think he would fit, but he said it was even roomier than an airplane seat. Sheesh! These kids sure get spoiled :)
I can see a future SNL skit involving these highly decked out/necessary car seats...

To top off our Saturday mom decided she wanted to try the scooter!! And after she drove it around a few times it was hard to get her off! She wants to take it home and drive it all around the town- I think she's making a hard-core biker chick face to Brett's camera in this pic.

Oh, and did I mention I have 2 new adorable nephews?!
They are only 4 days apart and are the sweetest little things ever.

Baby Miles. Congrats to Chad & Julie!!
and thanks Julie for the picture!

And baby Mack! I haven't met him yet, but I can't wait until I get to next weekend!
Congrats to Dave & Denae!
Thanks Ddawg for the picture.

2 years & counting

I can't believe Brett & I have been married for 2 years-it feels like we've been married longer. {In a good way!!}
The other day we were doing the math, and figured that technically it's our 8 year anniversary since we met when I was 14.
But we'll just call it 2 years to keep it less complicated... :)

Happy 2 years Brett- you are my best friend, my soul mate and the most genuinely nice and caring person I have ever met. You are the greatest example in my life- and you teach me new things every day, but most importantly you keep me smiling and laughing every day!

{ I have noooo idea what this picture is from, but it makes me laugh- why is his face so serious? It just goes to show that Brett will go to any lengths, no matter how embarrassing, to make me laugh}

Happy Anniversary
Can't wait for the years ahead

The Nook

We wanted to have our laptop out somewhere in the living room- since we knew we are on it frequently. We were having a hard time deciding where to put it though- but now our nook is complete and I love it!

The desk we got from Ikea, the nice green fabric is from my wedding
{matches the pillows} :)
The orange pot and antiqued mirror are my favorite- because they were free!!
I went with my sister Kate, to her Relief Society swap night, you bring something you don't want and get to pick up stuff you want.
Since it wasn't my ward and I didn't know anyone, I didn't hold back :)
I grabbed the mirror- cute orange pot and a couple other fun things

Now our nook is complete!!

Try These!!

Brett had to take a dessert into work last Friday- as we were going through our cupboards seeing what ingredients we could find I thought of these cookies that my friend, Joelle, posted on her blog earlier that day.
Home made Oreo Cookies
They were sooooo delicious!

Seriously, try them! you won't be disappointed!

He loves my shirt & holy moly...another project!

I saw this shirt the other day- and knew it would make Brett smile.
And I was right.

This is another project I just did!
Kim taught me how to make this yarn wreath and I really like the way it turned out-
plus it was super easy, my kind of craft!!

The roses were the easiest part!

We recently bought a stroller from a lady- and we LOVE it.
I think it's the ferrari of strollers- well not really, but we love it.
The seat can lay down, flip around to face you, or you can take it out all together, and there is an attachment for a car seat.
It's a jogging stroller- but we are going to use it for everything- it's great!
