Let me paint a picture for you.
It's early morning, I am in the library.
I am not usually here early but I had an early morning appt at the health center to get a Tuberculosis test done. I will be working in a pre-school next semester so they make you get the TB test so you don't kill any children.
I almost passed out.
But, more on that later...
So, are you still with me? I'm in the library on a computer. I'm doing some homework and I send a few pages to the printer.
I walk over to the printer and print my pages...
Are you wondering yet how a banana comes into play???
Well here it is
As I am walking back to my computer I notice that there is a banana on the ground kinda under this guys chair. My first thought was, someone dropped their banana!
But then I thought, No that's silly... it's probably this guys.
But there was no back pack or anything else by it
I mean, who would bend all the way over just to place a banana under their chair when they have a desk right in front of them??
Well- The thought that it wasn't his banana did not process and
stick in my mind.
Instead the thought, "He is going to roll over the banana in the rolly chair he is on and then it will ooze every where!"
Came into my mind.
Oh, how I wish it wouldn't have.
Without thinking, I tapped him on the shoulder.
"Um... your banana is on the ground" I smiled
"I don't want you to roll over it!!" I giggled.
"ummm" the banana man said, (looking at me sooooo strangely)
"Ya.... uhhhh... thanks" he says, slowly leaning over to pick up the banana while staring at me like I am the craziest lady alive
And that was it.
Then he turns right back to his computer and starts working.
I walk away feeling sooo awkward!!
Why did i say that???
Why did i even care if it was his banana and if he rolled
over it and squished it all over the place??
I was so intensely embarrassed to walk by him again.
Was it even his banana??
I'll never know.

LOL awkward! Seriously it had to be his and he is just a weirdo! I'm glad you said something because we would not want the library floor to be all goopy. He was being irresponsible and was probably embarrassed that you caught him. (o:
hahaha Emily! that is a great story and don't feel embarrassd. That guy is just awkward. cause that was nice of you to warn him about his soon-to-be-squished banana hahaha
That is too funny, Emily...:) I think you did the right thing, even if he was being all weird about it. He probably was like, "Why is this cute girl talking to me? I am just a ham who puts his banana on the ground because I don't think things through all the way...."
You found my banana!!!!!!! Ok, but seriously I think that just shows how thoughtful you are to the cleaning crew that would have to clean up that nasty smashed banana at 4AM. So I believe for your awkward moment you will receive many blessings. The only thing that would have made it better was if you inserted somewhere in the conversation that you were married so it is not like you were trying some desprate pick up line....cause lets be honest you know thats what he was thinking.
That's funny emily! I'm glad you said something -- because he probably would have squished it and then someone would have slipped on it and broke their neck. So basically you saved someones life!:)
