Brett is a skier. I mean a Hard-Core skier.
You know those crazy skiers you see speeding down the mountain and when they pass- you think, "Does that guy have any brains?!"
Well, my husband is one of those skiers.
He feels no fear from super sonic speeds and drools at any chance to get that thrill from skiing.
This is why it was so difficult for me to convince him to try
snow boarding one time.
He finally agreed.
We hit the slopes and he stood up on a snow board for the first time. And He did great!!!
I knew Brett was a natural at anything sports-related anyways~ but this was amazing!!
Getting off the ski lifts on a snow board...ummm.. lets just say that will be mastered on the next snow board trip?! (Brett took me down a few times getting off the lift...

First Brett wants the readers to know that this was his very FIRST run on a snow board ever!
So, he was not aiming for speed on this run...
Secondly, I yell, "TURN" in this video. I sound like a bossy, crazy wife. But in reality I am none of those things and I yelled "TURN" because I was twisting awkwardly to film him - and I wanted him to go the other way so that I wouldn't break my back. See? I'm not crazy nor bossy!
Also- we went Night Snow Boarding so it is pretty dark
Luckily the best part of the video (bretts crash landing) is in the light

It was a fun trip over all. Although I think that lack of speed in this first try was a little aggravating to Brett. He kept pointing at skiers going by and he would say, "I'm faster then him on skis" I know he is. But can't he just like the art and fun of snow boarding more? What's with guys and the need for speed?? I may never know.

Im glad you did a post all about Brett. I was trying to think of a way I could do an "ode to Brett." Haha. Bit I couldnt do it without it sounding awkard :-)
Awesome! I'm actually suprised at Brett for even trying it since he loves to ski so much. I totally agree at his reckless skiing patterns. I'm glad to see him much slower on a snowboard. How fun for you guys. So... Brett... is it back to skiing or did Emily convert you??

Hey, that's pretty dang good for a first time. My first time was spent mostly on my bum!
